Teamwork is a core aspect of interprofessional collaborative practice, and a skill that all of us in medicine and the health professions must cultivate to produce improved integrated care.

Today you will see a video of an interprofessional team meeting. The meeting takes place in the hospital and involves several health professions including medicine, social work, pharmacy, dietary, physical therapy and nursing.

Your objective today is to gain a basic understanding of the principles of teamwork described in the competencies developed by the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC).
