Abstract:
This lecture presentation focuses on delivering health care for older Latino patients.
Educational objectives:
- Understand what is meant by the term "Latino",
- Discuss most recent U.S. Latino demographics,
- Discuss health-related Latino elderly population characteristics,
- Understand clinically important relative health risks of Latino elderly,
- Expand history and physical exam skills to assess significant, culturally relevant findings, and
- Introduce targeted methods for delivering culturally appropriate geriatric care.
