Abstract:
This is a comprehensive web-based, online interactive module on Health Literacy in the Older Adult. It incorporates multiple modalities including hyperlinked text and resources, videos, mini-quizzes, and examples of health literacy assessment tools--all held together by an engaging speaker and guide through the module.

Educational objectives:
The learner will be able to:
- State the prevalence of limited health literacy in the American adult population in general and in the geriatric population in particular;
- List risk factors for limited health literacy;
- Explain how to determine the prevalence of limited health literacy in a medical practice; and
- Explain techniques for improving communication with all patients, including those who have limited health literacy skills.
