Description of the product: 

Continuing Mobile Education for EMS Providers is a video vodcast-based education program that includes interviews from physicians, EMTs, paramedics, and patients to help the EMS Provider give patients better care. The program was created to address the need for more "on-demand" educational opportunities for EMS Providers. Each month, a new block of four 10-minute vodcasts is posted to the program website, http://www.rochesterems.org/.

In the Respiratory Issues in the Older Adult block of podcasts, you will learn about anatomic and physiologic changes with aging, pneumonia, COPD, and pulmonary emboli.

Educational objectives: 

Episode 1: Respiratory System
- Review the function of the respiratory system
- Review changes that occur in the respiratory system associated with the ageing process
- Review components of the respiratory exam
- Review respiratory therapies

Episode 2: Pneumonia
- Understand the pathophysiology of pneumonia
- Review abnormal physical exam findings and symptoms seen in geriatric patients with pneumonia
- Review treatments for pneumonia in the field

Episode 3: COPD
- Learn about the epidemiology and pathophysiology of COPD
- Review abnormal physical exam findings seen in older adults with COPD
- Review treatments for COPD in the field

Episode 4: Pulmonary Emboli
- Learn about the epidemiology and pathophysiology of a pulmonary emboli
- Review abnormal physical exam findings and symptoms seen in geriatric patients with pulmonary emboli
- Review treatments for pulmonary emboli in the field

To use this product, you must have a high speed internet connection and speakers. You may choose to view the vodcasts in high or low resolution, or you may view them on Youtube.
