Mr. Thompson is a 70-year-old man who lives alone and is independent in his basic ADLs and IADLs. He comes to the office today asking for, "something to stop me from going so often." Upon further questioning, it is revealed that he is not able to hold his urine for very long once he has an urge to void and he has to get up 3 to 4 times each night to urinate. Some days he notes he is tired because voiding interferes with his sleep. He wonders if this could be his prostate acting up. Several years ago, during a routine physical, his doctor mentioned that he likely had "BPH."

FD~AGE Mini-FellowshipsThe FD~AGE Physician Mini-Fellowships in Geriatrics are intensive courses for non-geriatricians seeking training in geriatrics education and curriculum development. The course is free of charge to participants who are not from Reynolds-sponsored schools. CME credit is awarded.
