Product of the Year

POGOe was present earlier this month at the 12th Donald W. Reynolds Foundation Annual Grantees’ Meeting in Las Vegas. The Reynolds Foundation has been the most significant donor for Geriatric educational initiatives over the last decade, including funding POGOe. The conference featured many valuable speakers and presentations, as well as educational materials showcased during the Marketplace.

Each year, the participants vote for the best material at the Marketplace for the Product of the Year competition. Congratulations to this year’s Product of the Year award winner, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, for their Communication and Teamwork interactive case module. Communication is a core aspect of interprofessional collaborative practice, and a skill that all health professionals must cultivate to produce appropriate integrated care. This module focuses on six core interprofessional communication competencies developed by national health professions organizations.

Honorable Mention

An honorable mention is due to the runners up. The University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine placed second with Interprofessional Standardized Geriatric Patient Exercise and Medical College of Wisconsin was third showcasing Can You Swallow This? A Practical Approach to Dysphagia .

Congratulations to all of those that participated. Browse all of the materials in the Marketplace.

web-GEMs

We are proud to promote our peer reviewed interactive case-based web-GEMs modules that address the Minimum AAMC Geriatric Competencies. These 21 cases, with more in production, are engaging and formative ways to teach Medical Students, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. Each case comes with a takeaway document for students, downloadable faculty guide and tracking tools for instructors.
