Abstract:
This fact sheet, along with the accompanying pre- and post-test, teaches physicians-in-training about staging, prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers in hospitalized geriatric patients.
Educational objectives:
Learners will be able to:
- Recognize pressure ulcer stages using the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel classification system,
- Identify strategies used in the prevention of pressure ulcers, and
- Recognize appropriate treatment for pressure ulcers based on current standards of care.
