
Continuing Education in Nursing: Delirium

Participants of this online Continuing Education course receive one free nursing contact hour. The course begins with an explanation of delirium and the importance of the problem, risk factors and delirium sub-types. Nursing assessment for delirium and potential causes are covered in detail. Nursing management guidelines are suggested and the presentation concludes with websites that may be used as references for nurses caring for persons with delirium.
Differentiate delirium from other conditions in the course of caring for older adult patients.
Demonstrate skills to assess mental status.
Demonstrate interventions for nurse management of persons at risk for or experiencing delirium.
