Abstract: 

Web-based self-directed learning exercise that explores attitudes and barriers to effective palliative care. Effective pain management is explained with recommended regimens.

Educational objectives: 

The learner will be able to: 1) Obtain specific information about reimbursement for hospice care. 2) Distinguish between the sick and dying roles. 3) Describe common symptoms involved with the dying process.

Additional information/Special implementation requirements or guidelines: 

Used with approximately 1,400 third year medical students at University of Kansas School of Medicine.
